Tranformation

Description:
We have been learning about transformation.  We have specifically learnt that...

  • translation is when an object slides in any direction;
  • rotation is when an object is turned around a central point;
  • reflection is when an object is flipped and has a line of symmetry.

Our challenge was to design a car badge that contained at least one of these aspects of transformation.

Big Idea:

FeedBack/FeedFoward: I think you did well on your badge because I gave you the idea :) and it really explains your personality.. You like cats ( and animals too ) but I have to say that the cats mouth curves
are uneven. If you had a bit more time you could of done a bit more NEAT colouring. Otherwise it's amazing!

Evaluation:
The thing I would do next time is to make sure their are no mosquito bites ( that means colour so there are non coloured bits) and to make the g shaped eyes exactly the same. The thing I think I did well was representing my self and the letter of my name.

Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

Big Idea:

1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know? I did achieve my goal by being quiet when I woke up and I did wake up at 6:59 I know I achieved my goal because Nic got everyones attention and said we were aloud to get up.

2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay and why? I am most proud of myself for learning how to walk on the stilts because at school I kept falling off them.

3.  What challenged you the most and why? The thing that challenged me most was story telling. Why that challenged me because I thought that no one would like my story.

Something I will do next time is getting up and not worrying about no one liking my story.

Story Telling

Description: Oral storytelling is a Maori tradition. We have been planning our own story to tell on the Marae in Week 7.

Purpose: create a story to share orally

Evalution: I think one thing I have done well is planning. For next time I think I need to work on my confidence. another thing for next time I need to work on is crowd participation.

FeedBack/Feedforward: I think that you did a grand job telling you story. The message behind the story was very clear to me. Next time you could work on having some facial expressions.
